Halfords has good opportunities for growth, consolidating fragmented markets with a national store network chain and strong brand management.
Group revenues increased by 1.0% with a decline in Retail sales of 0.9% offset by 13.5% growth in Autocentres. In Retail, the Car Maintenance category grew strongly, Cycling was down marginally.
Halfords Retail sales performance in FY13 reflected a demanding trading environment. Sales were affected by unseasonal weather in the first and last quarters and by a summer of sport in between which particularly benefitted cycle sales.
